Viking Cargo was founded in 2002 by Barry Jones, a shipping industry veteran with a vision to create a freight forwarding company that prioritised personalised service and operational excellence. With over 50 years of combined industry experience, we started with just two employees and a small office in Sydney, focusing initially on air freight between Australia and New Zealand.
Throughout the 2000s, Viking Cargo steadily expanded its service offerings and global network. We established key partnerships with carriers and agents worldwide, allowing us to provide comprehensive logistics solutions to businesses of all sizes.
The early 2010s marked a period of significant growth as we invested in technology systems to enhance our operational efficiency and customer service capabilities. We implemented advanced tracking systems, digital documentation processes, and integrated warehouse management solutions to stay at the forefront of the industry. In 2019, we moved to our current headquarters in Smeaton Grange.
